One of the most important contemporary architectural works in the heart of Paris is dressed with innovative systems of the Greek Aluminium Industry EXALCO.
It is the skyscraper "EQHO", with 41 floors, totaling 140 meters and an office area of 89,000 sq.m. The building dominates the area «La Defense» northwest of Paris, an area with the tallest buildings.
It was built in 1988 and a radical reconstruction began in February 2011 and will be completed in 2013. Award was given to one of the best architects in France and more than 500 people worked in order to complete it.
EXALCO aluminum industry contributed in this innovative construction which was chosen from among many competing companies across Europe. Exalco was invited to provide architectural solutions and to overcome the structural difficulties creating a unique system for this project.
Specifically curtain wall system was used, which is characterized by high resistance to wind load performance and excellent seismic behavior. In building design techniques were used to correct energy behavior in order to save energy and optimize the physical comfort of users.
